Application 01

Personal Care

The outer layer of a hygiene product has to block liquid, feel like cloth and still breathe.

Personal Care — representative Felix material

01 · Industry challenge

A backsheet must stop liquid passing, yet it sits against skin and in view. A bare plastic film does not feel or look like fabric.

Laminating a nonwoven to a film gives a barrier with a soft, textile-like surface. With a breathable film, water vapour can still escape.

02 · Felix expertise

Felix's core competence is the production of breathable, textile-like backsheet. Textile backsheets are the raw material for the outer layer of a diaper; breathable and non-breathable film backsheets are also common in the industry. All of Felix's products for this sector are developed, researched and produced to meet industry quality standards.

Hot melt lamination of nonwoven to breathable film, and cast-film production with chill-roll gravure embossing, both in-house.
